Birthday Wedding

This was for a wedding as well as a birthday celebration.

Chicky had this cake for her friend's garden wedding at STAR. Shape & design was her idea, we just added some details on the cake. Initially I was worrying if the cakes can survive the hot weather last Saturday at the garden wedding. When her friend picked up the cake, I told her to get the hotel staff to put it in the freezer. Everything went well & I was glad that the guests enjoyed the cake. Thank you, Chicky !

Oh, one look at the cake, one could tell this was a mango cake & usual ' 3 layers of sponge with 2 layers of filling' !

* While I was typing this post, I started wondering when a similar cake with similar design (or any of mine !) with similar description of it will surface in someone's blog again ?? Sigh........

  3. U don't worried on the copyright issue ...in terms of taste + QUALITY ! I 200% guarantee they can't be duplicate by others....... Can't find 2nd baker like you :)

I have taken the STAR 4 layers dummy cake! forgot to post up! WHEN MY WEDDING Comes... I will not allow plastic flower + leaves + stem all around the cakes! It looks so funny + ridiculous!

  4. my gosh!! what an immature minded!! anyone leave in this earth can THINK and DO such similar design with similar description (as u mentioned), a small suggestion to you, don't post out if you don't want YOUR MASTERWORK to copy by others.

  6. wow.. wow.. wow....
don't be so CONCEITED, it is just a SIMPLE design, if i bake my FIRST CAKE, for sure my design will be much more better than yours. you can go for a copyright license so your CHILDISH DESIGN won't be copy!!!!
don't just sigh at the blog, keep your energy and time to think out something more special than a year one student's design!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. of cos you can voice out but before you do something like this, is better for you to think twice, any bakery can do such design, maybe few years back, the design is selling in the market, if you say your design was copied by other people, than i can say that you are doing the same things!!!

  8. you are right happy_day....
SIMILAR DESIGN with SIMILAR DESCRIPTION doesn't mean the taste will be similar too, if the taste is SIMILAR TOO than you, ganache_ganache, should think something to upgrade your MASTERWORK!! don't put the blame on other people!!!!!!!!

  9. cupcake_fav,happy_day : Oh I'm sure yr first cake will be much much better than me & I'm looking forward to it. I'm happy with my childish design, thanks for suggesting me to upgrade anyway !

  10. does "I'M HAPPY WITH MY CHILDISH DESIGN" mean you're not going to upgrade?? but anyway... hope you know that designing a cake is an art too, not surprising if an idea appears on other people's cake, as long as it is not EXACTLY THE SAME, nothing wrong if you found someone's design is similar to yours, perhaps 1 day you'll find out that your design is SIMILAR to other people's cake which was designed few years ago.

  11. U should be happy about your artwork design was modeled by others, this mean u have your forte and qualification. U should be proud of it and not be narrow-minded.....

  12. As a friend of ganache-ganache I am not impressed to read all the nasty comments posted. A true lover of baking/cooking who shares similar interests should leave "words of love" for another's work and encouragement, not the opposite. As photographers do too, we share "words of love" and encouragement.
I personally will delete and even block any nasty comments which only mean to scar one's feelings....why come into the website in the first place, with such intentions?
ganache-ganache, u r doing well and i can only salute you for sharing your blog openly.
Shame to those who dare to post nasty comments. Just stay away.

i feel tt it's ok, we gain from other ppl's design ideas too. however, u can choose not to reveal your recipes bc u are in business.

  20. Hi Lorraine!

I was actually there on the day itself to try this cake. It was fab! You are right, the cake didn't take the heat on that day very well. It was actually partial melted. Besides that everyone has had enjoyed the cake so much and no one was actually care about the calories!

  21. Hi Anon :

The day when the cake left my chiller, I was worrying the whole afternoon whether it can stand the heat at the garden wedding. Even though partially melted, it survived the wedding & I'm glad everyone had enjoyed the cake :)
